Mark Powell

Mark currently resides in Fernandina Beach, FL with his wife Leigh Ann. He and Leigh Ann have three children, James, Faith, and Bethany. Mark serves as a deacon at Mandarin Baptist Church and has been leading mission teams to serve at the Good Shepherd Center in Guatemala since 2011. He has a passion for this mission and has helped to raise funds to support construction of the Good Shepherd Center as well scholarships for children at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home.

Mark is originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi and is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. Mark is currently employed as a Principal Engineer at Johnsons & Johnson Vision Care in Jacksonville, FL and has over 25 years of experience in the area of Research & Development of contact lens products. He is a co-inventor on more than a dozen U.S. and European patents in the field of ophthalmics.

Good Shepherd Ministries in Guatemala is a ministry of International Indigenous Community Development (IICD) in partnership with Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina and North Carolina Baptists on Mission.

Good Shepherd Ministries helps individuals in indigenous communities to become followers of Christ as they focus on spiritual, physical, emotional and community needs.
